Sergey Petrossov’s Successful Startup JetSmarter Is Revolutionizing The Travel Industry
Sergey Petrossov has become a household name after launching his popular JetSmarter app. Sergey was recently awarded the Forbes 30 under 30 in consumer technology and South Florida’s Top Working Professional by the Sun Sentinel. He noticed early on the problems and inconsistencies laden within our traditional brick and mortar charter flight system. With the mobile marketplace increasingly on the rise, Sergey felt the cumbersome aviation booking process could and should be solved using technology, thus the idea for JetSmarter was born.
JetSmarter’s proprietary technology, coupled with it experienced advisory teams, many of whom are credited with successful project execution for Fortune 500 companies like Microsoft, bring a combined experience of over 100 years in the private air travel and technology sectors. Many have heralded Sergey’s JetSmarter application as the Uber for the private jet market, something Sergey Petrossov is extremely proud of. JetSmarter launched its beta version in August of 2012, officially launching the JetSmarter app to the public in March of the following year. Rather than having to go through tons of middlemen and a mound of paperwork, JetSmarter allows app users to book a private charter flight in just about 3 minutes. Talk about traveling fast! Sergey Petrossov believes his JetSmarter app will grow significantly in the coming years.
Launching his company at only 28, Sergey Petrossov believes that “once you go all in as an entrepreneur, you don’t look back.” Sergey has managed to raise over 105 million dollars from new and existing investors, including the Saudi royal family and Jay-Z, for funding the successful startup app. Investors value the JetSmarter app somewhere in the ballpark of 1.5 billion dollars. Today the company has more than 260 employees, granting users the ability to fly into cities across the United States, across Europe, and throughout in the Middle East.
